Maven Secrets

What is a Maven? A maven is an experienced and knowledgeable or an expert. The first time I heard it, I thought Maven is a person. I have a friend named George who invited me to attend to the Maven Secrets which was held at Asian Institute of Management. It was a great opportunity for me for it was also my first time to enter AIM. The first session was an orientation of what the Maven Secrets is all about. During the first session I have already a lot of inputs. Maven Secrets goes far beyond traditional "internet marketing or blog marketing" because it focuses on having the right mindset and aligning yourself with what you are passionate about. When I introduced myself, I told them that I am passionate about writing and have been blogging for more than two years. I like to write my thoughts and sometimes I wanted to share what I have learned from my readings. For me it is a way of capturing the knowledge and understanding it better.
I didn't know that there is money in it not until I read the article of Macuha.com. I found it interesting and I shared it to my friends. My work as a librarian has taught me a lot of things, I need to read a lot to become updated. My first understanding about blogging is like a journal or some kind of writing in a diary. Blogging is basically writing or learning how to write.

Step 1 Define your advocacy the most critical step (Still thinking for an advocacy, brainstorming with friends)

Advocacy is the pro-active support of an idea, cause or your personal convictions. What value are you going to impart to the online community.

Step 2 Brand Yourself Online it starts with creating a unique name or using your name on your email address for your website. (Haven't branded myself online yet)

Step 3 Buy your virtual estate. There are two ways to do this either you leverage on a existing brand and get a unique domain with the right keywords. (Not yet done)

Step 4 Build your Home Online There are three types of real estate developers (This is not clear for me yet)

Virtually Free Estates, Managed Hosting Virtual Estates, and Self Hosted Virtual Estates.

Step 5 Optimized for search engine superhighway. The two key concepts for optimizing our virtual home : usability recommendations and search engines crawlability recommendations.

Step 6 Integrate your home in your virtual social community. (Trying to propagate my blog to my friends)

Step 7 Put up and strategically locate advertising billboards in your virtual home. (I have already sign up for Google adsense)

Step 8 Write Your First Post by Announcing Your Advocacy, Virtual Address and Community

Tips on writing Your First Blog Post

Why? Give background on the title. Write a one sentence description about your advocacy.

Why you started the blog in the first place.

Capture the emotions. Capture the moment.

Write to your audience. Don't write to yourself. Write to people you are targeting to read the blog.

Just do it. Don't worry about the people who will be reading your blog. Be satisfied that you were able to publish what you wanted to say.

Step 9 Write the next ten pillar articles that would define your brand and advocacy.

Step 10 Invite people to Your Virtual Home and Community by Marketing in Online and Offline.

After going through the steps one by one there are still a lot of things to do and to be learned.

BEAUTIFUL MIND
(A thinking Mind)
1. Have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and information. Regular exposure to good input. Read books , magazines and newspapers. Listen to educational tapes and videos. Watch TV. Experiment and be observant and curious.

2. Network with good thinkers. Reach out to other people and build a network of individuals whose direction is to achieve success. Build relationships at all levels inside and outside work. Choose to spend time with people who will challenge you with your thinking and actions. Believe that sharp people sharpen one another just as iron sharpens iron. If you want to be sharp thinker be around sharp people.

3. Be deliberate about thinking process and choose to think of good thoughts. Choose favorable environment to think, sharp, stretch, and land your thoughts. Have a "thinking schedule". Be passionate about what you think about. Love what you do and apt rewards will follow.

4. Think and then Act. Know what you want, paint a dreamm define a vision and have a clear idea about what you want to do, be accomplish. Put your good thoughts and deeds into goals. Ideas have a limited shelf life , you must act on it before it expires. Have a daring dream and have the courage to act on it.

5. Let your emotions rule and create another good thought. Don't wait to feel like doing something, for you will likely never to do it. In thinking you cannot wait until you feel like thinking to carry it out. Once you engage in the process of good thinking you can use your emotions to feed the process and create a mental momentum.

6. Do the thinking process over and over again. One good idea does not make a successful existence. Successful existence. Success comes to those who have an entire mountain of gold that they continually mine, not those who find one nugget and try to live on it for 50 years. Always practice good thinking.

See the big picture by looking at the world beyond your own needs and see how that leads to great ideas.

Get focused by removing mental clutter and distractions to realize your full potential.

Be creative by thinking in unique ways and making breakthroughs work with others on shared thoughts to compound results.

Reflect on the past to gain a better understanding of the future.

Question popular thinking.

Explore possibilities, practice unselfishness and rely on the bottomline.

This is from the column of Bong Osorio fr. Phil. Star. I take notes about the article and posted it in my blog to share with you. Good thinking is your most potent weapon to become successful in a highly competitive and difficult time.
