Gifts of the Filipinos

The Filipinos are happy people. They are gifted with laughter, music and faith which has become their symbol. These three gifts are the only thing they need to recover from the storms of life. It is easy for them to start anew because they have these three things. After the storms we have gone through we have to go to the basics of life. The lesson we learned from the disaster is we don't really need much in life. All we need is life itself and love. Life is the important gift to us, not money, power or the things that tend to deceive us. Money can be replaced but the life of a person is not. Life is simple we just complicate it. Life is short we have to live it the fullest.

A Prayer

Lord, I don’t feel that I have anything to offer now.
Inside me is emptiness
I can only hear the throbbing of sadness in my heart
I am sitting on the ashes of desolation
I feel have been swallowed by the sea of nothingness
I feel empty, I feel nothing, I feel incomplete
Lord I ask you to fill me again
At this time when I feel so alone, so powerless, so desolate
Even the passion of Your love does not excite me anymore
The promise that you will always be with us
cannot spark any enthusiasm in me anymore
Lord, I feel empty I have nothing to offer You
Lord please accept the emptiness of my spirit
Fill me with a deep belief in Your abiding presence
After me to say goodbye to whatever
Keeps me from relying on You.
Help me to confront the emptiness I feel right now
To be a blessing which enables me to put my life in perspective
Then I will be able to see You as the source of all
