8 Stations of the dining table for the Holy Week

1. Fasting is the fountain of youth.

2. The heart feels young if it isn't fatty.

3. You're a step ahead of chemical contaminants. Foods containing animal and
dairy fat are particularly vulnerable to contaminants.

4. Fiber from plant foods helps dilute, bind, inactive and remove toxic substances
and carcinogens in our food supply.

5. Abstaining from eating meat is actually pro poor, anti poverty.

6. Shunning the meat is also pro environment.

7. Giving up animal-based food means showing mercy in the day of holy.

8. You are not alone. Believe it or not, numerous vegetarian restaurants have
been sprouting around the Metro and even in far flung provinces.

All I Need to Know About Life I Learned from Trees

Lessons

It's important to have roots.

In today's complex world, it pays to branch out

If you really believe in something, don't be afraid to go out on a limb

Be flexible so you don't break when a harsh wind blows.

Sometimes you have to shed your old bark in order to grow

Grow where you are planted

It's perfectly okay to be a late bloomer

Avoid people who would like to cut you down.

Get all spruced up when you have a hot date.

If the party is boring, just leaf.

You can't hide your true colors as you approach the autumn of your life.

It's more important to be honest than popular.

Learning Silence

The word silence is difficult to achieve nowadays because we are surrounded by
a lot of noise. The generation X does not know what silence means. Silence to them is a thing of the past. We hear loud music, talking out loud, everybody wants to be the center of attention or an expression statement. We need to have our silent moment. Silence is a way reflecting, it will help us come out with a sound decision.
It will help us also to have a good grasp and to understand whatever or any situation. silence will also help us discern what is right and wrong. silence is also communicating our thoughts to God as well as listening to what He wants for us. silence can help us also clear our minds of destructing thoughts. learning silence can be as easy as the usual things that we do, we need it in order to achieve inner peace.

Poem by Judith Gass

Why are you waiting to begin your life
Do you think the world must care and come soliciting?
Listen to the knocking at the door of your own heart
It is faint because you have not answered
You have fooled yourself with preparations
Time left laughing while you considered possibilities
Wake up you have slept long enough
Wake up tomorrow may be too late
When you finally dare open the door
Your life will begin arriving
Cautiously at first unbelieving that the gate
So long locked against the tide has finally been opened
Then with swells of neglected dreams
Then with waves of joyful revelation the sea will follow
You will be swept by the full and magnificent tides of
your own longing
That no one else can give you
That no one else can claim.
