The Other Side
as i read mother teresa's dark side of life everyone has its own dark side.
its not necessarily the bad side of the person but it is when he feels empty and lost. it's really difficult to follow Christ and carry His cross. nobody is perfect we have our own weaknesses. temptation cannot be avoided. we are like gold tested on fire to become a precious stone. we have to undergo trials and test to attain our goal. we just have to hold on to Him in prayer to be strengthen by his grace and love. i have experienced also dark sides in my life, several times but i never gave up on Him. no matter how hurt i am and angry i still end up with You. i know in my heart that You love me so much, a love than i can't fathom. i'm sorry i have not loved you that much, i always hurt your feelings even if I love you. my love isn't always enough, so many conditions are in it. Your love is constant, doesn't change, your love is unconditional tested by time. You are the light that shines in my life. you are my life.
you are my true joy. you have called me by my name and am special to You. your hug is enough for me. you always manifest your love to me in beautiful things that surround me, be it human and all other living things. you are my guiding light. you are my hope when in despair. you are always there to defend me. you never left me in those trying times in my life. you like it when i'm closer to you, that's why you give something that makes me remind that you are always there.
The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart. Helen Keller

The Calling
Dec. 8, 2009
It was our christmas party at the office and at the same time the Thanksgiving Mass of Fr. Jhoen a friend from way back in Singles for Christ. I have to choose which occasion to attend and I chose the mass. It was a dream come true for this young man to serve God full time. After long years of waiting and discerning finally the man is for priesthood. The time when we were at SFC this man is full of wisdom, he is always invited in giving talks. Sometimes we shared our faith encounters. I happened to read his blog while he was studying in Rome. While listening to his homily I was touched by what he said. The joy in his heart cannot be contained. The gist of the homily is the acronym GIFT. G stands for grace, grace that comes from God perhaps in the form of blessings which oftentimes we fail to acknowledge. I stands for Intimacy, how do we become intimate with God, by having a personal relationship with Him through prayer.
F is for family and friends who are always there to guide us along the way. T is for our complete trust in God no matter what. The greatest gift of all is Love. Are we a gift to others?

Quotes from Coach Carter
What is your deepest fear?
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us. Our playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our lights shine we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

What Comes Around Goes Around
God is a loving God never a punishing God. What happened to us is the consequence of our actions. We have failed to preserve the environment. It is not an "Act of God" as the insurance policy clause states but it is an Act of Man.Get rid of the "trash in our lives" material, emotional and spiritual trash which we need to dispose of as we go through life. Indeed how light and peaceful life is if we carry no burdens and carry no trash. Detachment is the word. Detachment from materials things which come and go and are not permanent. Learn to value what is essential and important. Life is more important than things. We should help in caring for Mother Earth. God is a forgiving God but nature does not forgive.
Enjoy Life The Healing Concert
Last Saturday I watched the Healing Concert with my friend Joevy at the Arena. It was a spiritually refreshing concert. I am reminded of my SFC days especially the worship part. I like the songs that the singers sang. One song that has a great message is "Love is Greater than the Universe" sang by a cute priest, I think it's his own composition. One song that made me cry was Bridge Over Troubled Water. The singer has a powerful rendition of the song full of emotion. We can very well relate to the song because of the recent storm that has affected us, but despite the storms in our life we managed to rise above the situation. The reason why I attended the concert was for healing of my mother and for other friends who are sick. I thought I will not cry but I cried, as always when I attend healing session. I feel high and my spiritual life was recharged once more, how I wish there was no ending but the concert has to end. After the healing I'm back to the real world but now ready to face whatever may come with God's help.

Faces
While waiting for the movie I was about to watch, I want to do something worthwhile, I took picture of this wallpaper. It means something the two faces of human one is happy and the other one is sad. In life we both experience being sad and happy. This is part of life without the other we will not be able to appreciate what it is to be happy. This is also the life of an actor. The two faces that he represents, despite his experiences whether happy or sad, as they say "The Show must go on."
This is It
Last Sunday I watched the movie This Is It with my niece and nephew.
I was curious about the movie and I have doubts if it is worth watching.
The long hours of waiting tested my patience, because we arrived at the theater before lunch time and the screening time is scheduled at 2 p.m.
My little boy companion was bored to death and to kill his boredom he was running around, lying on the floor, tumbling and trying to play with other kids. He even suggested me that we go to Timezone. It was worth the wait. The movie concert was really amazing. To think that it was just a dress rehearsal, it's like the real concert itself. MJ is real genius and his passion is his music. It seems that he knew it was his last great concert. He really did his best. It shows also his child like attitude, but he never failed to say Thank you and God bless you to whoever he communicates with. He is really a great performer. His music will continue to live and he will be forever remembered.

Reading in the 21st century by Blooey Singson
Reading never goes out of style, even in the age of technology.
In the August 1894 issue of Scribner’s magazine, an article by Octave Uzanne, predicted “The End of Books,” proposing that in the 20th century, the printed page will be replaced by “storyographs,” patented cylinders containing recordings of books. Uzanne imagines today’s libraries transformed into “phonographotecks” or “phonostereoteks,” repositories for the “storyographs.” He also imagined portable players that he called “pocket phono-opera-graphs.”
While Uzanne’s predictions almost accurately cover audiobooks, ebooks, mp3 players, and personal ebook readers, he was wrong on one count: the introduction of these technologies did not herald the end of books, but rather gives the 21st century person new ways to enjoy the printed page, and enhanced the reading experience.
The Manila International Book Fair lists the top 10 reading technologies, proving just how relevant reading still is in the 21st century.
As the Manila International Book Fair, the paramount event of the Philippine book industry, marks its 30th anniversary this year on Sept 16-20 at the SMX Convention Center, it once again welcomes book lovers to celebrate it celebrates the written word in all its forms.
1) E-books and E-book readers – E-books are digital media that are equivalent to the conventional printed book, usually read on e-book readers. These are devices that specifically function to display books, equipped with an electronic ink display that mimics the appearance of a printed page. As an added advantage, e-book readers can store hundreds of titles, are portable, are readable even in bright sunlight or in a dark room, and have a long battery life. Other gadgets, such as personal computers, laptops, PDAs and cell phones, can also be used to read e-books but do not have the book-like display of e-book reader devices.
2) Audio books – Audio books are recordings of the spoken word, often (but not always) the recording of a conventional printed book. While they first appeared in cassettes and CDs, audiobooks are more popularly available today in digital formats. Some audio books are abridged while some carry the complete text; some are straight narrations, others are dramatized or narrated by celebrity readers. Audiobooks are convenient for multi-taskers, who wish to enjoy books while driving, working out, or doing housework, and also open up more reading opportunities for slow readers, or the visually-impaired.
3) Social Networking sites – Book lovers can reach out to fellow book lovers via social networking sites that allow members to create virtual book shelves, post reviews, and create book discussions. Examples of such sites are Shelfari.com (currently housing the biggest online community of Filipino book lovers, Flips Flipping Pages), GoodReads.com, LibraryThing.com, and Anobii.com.
4) Online Book Trading – Swapping books with other readers across the globe can be done through book tradings sites. Some sites, such as BookMooch.com, operate on a points system, others, like Paperbackswap.com and Titletrader.com, operate on request queues. Other sites, like Bookcrossing.com involves randomly leaving books in public areas for other people to find.
5) Reading implements – These are mechanical implements that aid the reading of the conventional printed book. Book lights are personal lamps that can be slipped inside or clipped on to books to illuminate reading in the dark. Some book light varieties consist of a thin sheet of acrylic lit up by LED lights so that the whole page is illuminated by white light (as opposed to a portion of the book) and eliminates shadows cast by lamps. Book stands or book holders are devices designed to free hands from the weight of the book while reading, especially for heavy books, such as textbooks, encyclopedias, and bibles. There are also thumb rings that allow reading a book with one hand, and book totes that protect the book and mark the page where the reader left off.
6) On-demand Publishing – It is always difficult to get publishers to look at new manuscripts. Limited financial resources and high capital requirements mean greater selectivity by publishers, resulting in fewer new authors every year. The alternative route left for authors is self-publishing, which is an arduous task for any new author. But with the advent of new printing technology, anyone can be capable of printing their own book, with print runs as small as 50 copies or as big as 1000 copies, in a matter of minutes and at feasible costs.
In the Philippines, this option is offered by Central Books Publish on Demand Service, offering packages includes the registration for copyright and ISBN, guidance for cover design and layout, full proofs of the book, and even marketing material, such as book posters.
Central Books also offers the Picture Books service, which layout a collection of digital photos using a template-based system, and come up with a personalized book of memories.
7) E-learning – With the pervasiveness of technology in everyday life, academic istitutions have realized the need to maximize the benefits of technological advancement. In 2004, the Department of Education recognized e-learning as an effective solution to the downgrading quality of Philippine education by issuing a policy directing the incorporation of information communications technology (ICT) into school curricula.
In response, Diwa Learning Systems, Inc., established iDIWA, an e-learning group designed to take the initiative in spearheading the integration of information technology in its core business: education
or academic publishing, and came up with GENYO (pronounced as jen-yo), a fully integrated e-learning program that has multimedia content for five key learning areas: Science, Math, English and Araling Panlipunan.
GENYO comes with an authoring tool that allows teachers to customize pages, a teacher training program that helps them become effective educators, access to an online learning portal (GENYO Online at www.genyo.idiwa.ph) ICT strategic management services, network consulting, and technical support.
Central Books and Diwa Learning Systems are exhibitors at the Manila International Book Fair.
As the MIBF celebrates its pearl anniversary, it once again unites bibliophiles and major players in the publishing industry in its continuing efforts to promote books and reading, with the largest and most varied collection of titles that will surely inspire the avid reader.
Co-located at the MIBF is Edu.Shop, a trade fair for school materials, supplies, equipment, and facilities.

Gifts of the Filipinos
The Filipinos are happy people. They are gifted with laughter, music and faith which has become their symbol. These three gifts are the only thing they need to recover from the storms of life. It is easy for them to start anew because they have these three things. After the storms we have gone through we have to go to the basics of life. The lesson we learned from the disaster is we don't really need much in life. All we need is life itself and love. Life is the important gift to us, not money, power or the things that tend to deceive us. Money can be replaced but the life of a person is not. Life is simple we just complicate it. Life is short we have to live it the fullest.

A Prayer
Lord, I don’t feel that I have anything to offer now.
Inside me is emptiness
I can only hear the throbbing of sadness in my heart
I am sitting on the ashes of desolation
I feel have been swallowed by the sea of nothingness
I feel empty, I feel nothing, I feel incomplete
Lord I ask you to fill me again
At this time when I feel so alone, so powerless, so desolate
Even the passion of Your love does not excite me anymore
The promise that you will always be with us
cannot spark any enthusiasm in me anymore
Lord, I feel empty I have nothing to offer You
Lord please accept the emptiness of my spirit
Fill me with a deep belief in Your abiding presence
After me to say goodbye to whatever
Keeps me from relying on You.
Help me to confront the emptiness I feel right now
To be a blessing which enables me to put my life in perspective
Then I will be able to see You as the source of all
Inside me is emptiness
I can only hear the throbbing of sadness in my heart
I am sitting on the ashes of desolation
I feel have been swallowed by the sea of nothingness
I feel empty, I feel nothing, I feel incomplete

Sunset
We are about to hear mass. While waiting for my sisters I started taking pictures. A picture of sunset but the sun is already hidden.
It reminds us that the day has already ended and it's time to take a rest.

Tonight I Can Write the Saddest Lines by Arnel Paciano Casanova
Tonight I can write the saddest lines
Write for example "The floodgates are shattered and the heavens shiver as it cries"
The night wind wails in mourning and the sky bowed down
Tonight I can write the saddest lines
I loved my people and they loved me too
though at nights like this, I wanted to hold them closely in my arms
but i lost them in the rage of the heavens
As their tears swept them to the edge of the seas
I loved them and they loved me too
How could one not love their sweetest smiles and gentle eyes
Tonight I write the saddest lines
To know that I did not have them and lost them in my arms
To hear the silence in the crashing waves
Makes the night darker than dark
To feel the emptiness of the moonlight sucks the strength in my heart
why would it matter if my love could not keep them
my heart is shattered and they are not with me
That is all. in the horizon, a dirge is singing.
in the horizon my spirit longs for the joyful children lost in the sea
like Sisa, I search for my Basilios shouting their names
until my voice is hoarse unheard , unheeded
we from this time, will not be the same
i love my people and i shall never fail loving them
that is certain and if my love could not keep them
i shall make my love greater than the tears that the heavens could give
they will be in my gentle arms yet strong, unbent
their laughter, their hopes, their dreams will be safe in my heart
i shall love them even if i have to endure the pain
even if the floodgates would open again
the love of my people and my love for them
shall forever endure
we shall speak to the universe in compassion
because through nights like this one i held them in my arms
the pain of loving and losing shall make me
regain the strength to stand, walk and believe and love again.

The Joy Being a Filipino
Pinoys regardless of adversity has always been among the world’s happiest people. In fact it is during the darkest most desperate times when we laugh loudest, love hardest, it is when we are at our most inventive . This is what makes Jollibee proud to be Filipino. By staying true to its and principles. Jolibee has weathered and overcome economic uncertainty and multinational competition to emerge as this country’s largest and most successful fast-food restaurant chain. With over 660 stores in the Philippines and 50 abroad thousands of dedicated employees and partners and millions upon millions of satisfied customers, there is a reason to be jolly. This dramatic achievement , however, is merely a result of hard work and good values. By remaining close to the interests (and appetites) of the Pinoy, by never compromising quality, by striving to provide a haven for all that is good in the Filipino, Jolibee has become an institution in the hearts and minds of this country’s people. A testament to our capabilities as a nation that cries out Pilipino tayo. Excellence? Chicken lang yan.
I like this ad from Jolibee that's why I'm posting it in my blog. It's really Pinoy. Even in the worst situation like the recent typhoon Ondoy Pinoys show their best qualities. Out of the situation emerged unsung heroes who risk their lives to save the lives of others. Ang galing talaga ng Pinoy.

I Love to Volunteer
This is one of the things that I love to do volunteer work. Helped in packing things for distribution to the victims of the calamity. I was a victim of the calamity but I still feel lucky because my family are still there. I was at home when the flood happened. There's nothing I can do to help them my only resort was to pray for them and I know that God will not leave them in that situation. There are a lot of lessons learned from the calamity.

How Many Storms Could Break a Heart? by Maria Isabel Garcia
DE RERUM NATURA
Science will always be prepared with some possible explanation for what caused the floods, most likely even their links to climate change. Science could begin by recounting our city’s natural history which points to the Pasig River continually caressing the lips of Manila Bay. Science could readily give you a litany of elevations across the cities of the metropolis, technically illustrating how Cainta and Marikina could be natural gigantic basins. Science could be reminding you right now that our overpopulation, and the way all 10 million of us have carved our own abodes in every nook and cranny of the city, has aggravated the tragedy. But all these ideas, as they lurk in my head, all take the background for now, as I think of my friend whose family got trapped in De la Costa, Montalban during the storm.
De la Costa, Montalban is one of the areas worst hit by “Ondoy.” I saw it on television — the nearby saturated hills caused landslides which buried houses and their inhabitants. During the storm, my friend’s husband tied their kids to a tree to keep them from drifting with the strong flood currents. They said they saw their friends and neighbors pass them carried by the strong currents. It painted an image I can never forget. Two days after, when I met my friend and Marijoe, 11, one of her daughters, I did not know what to say to Marijoe who celebrated her birthday tied to a tree. A few years ago, they were victims of another tragedy — their house burned down and their family had to sleep in a basketball court for weeks. I found myself telling her that she can face anything from now on. And when I left them, I wondered to myself if what I said were true.
Do our chances for happiness decrease when we experience such deep tragedies like Ondoy? A few weeks ago, someone sent me a very moving article. It was published in June 2009 issue of Atlantic under Psychology. It was an ongoing study of 268 men and how they have fared for 72 years since their days at Harvard. The study followed them through youth, shifting careers, changing marriages, parenthood, grandparenthood and old age, and all the joys and heartaches that came with those rites of passage, until death. Some of them are very famous men — like Norman Mailer and John F. Kennedy (although JFK’s records cannot be opened until 2040). The study’s writer, Joshua Wold Shenk, began his piece by asking if out of these life stories, there would emerge some formula for happiness.
The research hoped that maybe leafing through an archive, browned by the passage of 72 years but constantly visited to be updated, would give us wandering and wondering humans some clues to what makes for a happy life. Maybe it wanted to know how many shots of tragedy could we take before we break our hearts irretrievably? How healthy should we be to consider ourselves happy? If we lose a limb or the control of our bodies, do we inevitably lose our balance, not just for space, but also for life? How much money really helps in living our desired life and how many coins over is it when it begins to be a burden? How fulfilled should we be in our chosen work, in the people we have chosen to love and be responsible for in order to come out happy?
There was no formula. Of course, there isn’t any. Seventy-two simultaneous years of 268 men fall short not just in terms of how their stories could apply to the rest of us, non-Harvard beings and unmale. They also fall short in measuring up to how each of the subjects viewed their own complex lives. They themselves were lost in the passion and gravity of their own lives to consciously think of proportions that could be the recipe for lasting glee.
It was not even the absence of obstacles and tragedies that made for happiness. The only thing that was clear is that for those who thought they were happy, they raged with life. In the words of one chosen case, he “squeezed that lemon.” They were the ones who consciously lived fully, storms and sunsets, summer days and sunrises. They fought earth, water, air and fire and their combinations, and these souls prevailed.
I seriously doubt if a science column or a 72-year-old study could ever console 11-year-old Marijoe who just lost their house and saw her friends drift into oblivion. But I saw fire in her eyes and I hope the fire stays.
(Phil. Star Oct. 1, 2009)

Wake Up Call
Sept 27, 2009 Storm “Ondoy”
The heavy rains ushered the coming of the storm in the morning of Saturday. Most of us didn’t anticipate that it will create a great damage and effect on our lives and properties. Is it because we are already used to the heavy rains in the afternoon and after the heavy downpour the weather will be back to normal again. We didn’t foresee the wrath of the mother nature. We were not prepared for the worst and because of this we lives and properties were lost. It came like a thief in the night as the bible says. Despite the unfortunate events that we have experienced I admire the attitude of the Filipinos when it comes to calamities like this, you can still see in their faces the smile and ray of hope that they will surpass this great crisis. Does this have to do with our great faith in God that He will help us to start anew. There’s this bayanihan spirit of helping each other.
During this time I was not at home, I feel guilty about it I was not there when they (my parents and sister) needed me. I tried to extend help to my parents who were trapped at home because of the waist deep flood that entered our house but unfortunately we can’t pass through because of the traffic and the streets were still flooded. They have already run out of food and can’t buy food outside. I feel helpless that my only resort was to pray for them and put my complete trust in God hands. God has answered my prayers thru good neighbor who brought them some food to eat. I got also an inspiring prayer message from a friend which I didn’t expect. Tonight I got a message from a friend in Pangasinan asking if we are affected by the floods and if we need something. I told her that prayers will suffice for us. She was insistent and even ask my address, I was in tears while answering her message because I was touched by her gesture. I believe that God is working hard to send us people or should I say angels to light our way. Light in the sense that they help us carry our heavy burdens in life. Often times we failed to realize that, we forget to thank Him for the answered prayers. I also believe in the saying that whatever goodness you do unto others will come back unto you. The calamity we are experiencing right now , can be considered a wake up call for all us. It’s up to all of us to come into our senses what is the message for all us.

Sunken Garden (U.P.)
The University of the Philippines sunken garden. Sunken garden is a garden set below level of the ground surrounding it. A refreshing site to see. After attending a class on digital photography, my friend and I tried to shoot pictures inside the campus. She took pictures of me and she toured me around UP. It's a nice place conducive to learning.

They're Called the Net Generation Librarians by Ronald S. Lim
Old, dour, and extremely conservative. Of course, that stereotypical image of the librarian is far from the truth.
Today’s Filipino librarians are very much in touch with the modern times. For instance, librarians Zarah Gagatiga and Von Totanes both have popular blogs – Filipino Librarian in Action and Filipino Librarian, respectively – that discuss the many different issues that today’s librarians face.
This was also a top concern as librarian Johann Cabbab presided over a forum that tackled the many ways today’s librarians may utilize the immense power of the Internet to their advantage.
The forum was held at the Manila International Book Fair, ongoing until tomorrow, Sunday, Sept. 20, at the SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia. The forum was dubbed as “Net Generation Librarians” and was organized by The Association of Special Libraries of the Philippines’ (ALSP).
BRAND NEW WORLD
Cabbab defines net generation librarians as those who utilize the tools of current technologies to better provide services to their users.
As an assistant professor of Library and Information Science (LIS) at the University of the Philippines (UP), Cabbab is keen on introducing modern technologies, especially the Internet, to his students. In fact, his masteral thesis – The Development of an Interactive Media Program in Library and Information Science – focused specifically on that. He has also spoken at numerous seminars and workshops regarding the topic.
“Technology has always been a valuable tool in libraries and LIS teaching here and abroad. Libraries and librarians have always been using current technology-driven services to do their job,” he says. “I remember computers being used in the SLIS and the UP Main Library ever since I enrolled in UP in the 90’s, maybe even earlier.”
The prevalence of Web 2.0 technologies likes blogs and social networking sites has also provided today’s librarians an exceptionally effective way of communicating and finding out the needs of its market.
In the United States, librarians have been using microblogging sites like Twitter to announce their new acquisitions, and YouTube to provide virtual tours to its patrons. The same things are also now being done in the Philippines.
“UP Diliman in particular has the Diliman Interactive Learning Center (http://dilc.upd.edu.ph, http://updilc.multiply.com) for the whole UP community. The University Virtual Learning Environment
(uvle, http://www.uvle.up.edu.ph), has been around for quite some time. Quite recently, the IskWiki (UP Community Wiki, http://iskwiki.upd.edu.ph) was also put up,” Cabbab adds.
These changes have also made an impact on how classes are conducted: if students used to bring notebooks to class, they now bring netbooks and laptops so as to easily access today’s technology.
RIDDING OF THE HARD COPY HABIT
But getting to such a comfortable place with regards to technology has not always been an easy journey, Cabbab recalls. While he’s had his own share of technological mishaps, he says that the biggest challenge to overcome was the digital divide that exists in today’s society.
“A lot of students didn’t have net access here or at home. This has changed in the past couple of years with all the cheaper ISP packages as well as the proliferation of net cafes,” he says.
Cabbab says that the challenges that today’s net generation librarians face is one of economics and information. The continuing shift towards digitized books will be something that today’s librarians will have to address.
“While we have a web-accessible Online Public Access Catalog, more Internet access in the library, and more databases with full text and downloadable content, I really don’t know if we’ll fully be able to rid ourselves of hard copy habit,” he says. “Maybe a gradual shift from print to digital in the next couple of years would be okay, but then the problem of economics and the digital divide still comes into view.”
“On the marketing side, I would think being more familiar with webdev, RSS, CMS’es, blogs and social networking would be an edge in letting stakeholders know about current holdings
in one’s institution,” Cabbab says.

Clean Slate
The popular author, Stephen Covey, correctly observed, “So often the problem is in the system, not in the people. If you put good people in a bad system, you get bad results. You have to water the flowers you want to grow.” If this is true to corporations and organizations,
this can be true also to families. We are not born bad nor are we born good. We are born into a wonderful, caring and loving families. Others are born into families that are broken and some are raise with one parent because the other one is working abroad. Some are born out of wedlock or what they call single parent. Some are born into wealth and privilege while others see the light of day in the filthy slums. Some are educated, and have insightful parents who carefully nuture and guide their children into adulthood. Others are unfortunate because their parents are insensitive and unloving. The result of which, children grow up without discipline, without character and without even morals. The problem isn’t in the kids but it’s in the family and the environment which they are raised. The environment has great influence on us. Even if some come from a loving and caring family their children turned into vices such as drugs because of peer pressure. This simply proves that Covey’s observation about good people locked into bad system is also true about good kids trapped in bad environment. There are good kids out there who are stuck in environments that crush their spirit and drag them into all kinds of messy situation. Life is sometimes or oftentimes unfair, especially to children. They become victims of circumstances in their lives which they don’t have the capacity to cope up. Children are raised in good earth, others are thrown into rocky, dry land where they are force to grow up and face the harsh realities of life.
There are those children who are allowed to actualize their potentials while others are trapped in a cycle of emotional and moral degradation. What parents need to know is that they are answerable to God if they do not care for their little ones whome they are in charged with. And when we ask God for justice, that is what parents will get if they maltreated their children God has given to them.

The Apple Ipod Mini
Owners of the original Apple iPod clamors for more from the makers of the iPod music experience. The latest ipod player available in the market comes in a smaller and leaner frame, and is marketed in a rainbow of colors. This is the Apple iPod mini.
The Apple iPod mini has a platform of MAC or Windows OS. Some original Apple iPod users have already seen the Apple iPod mini with a new four gigabytes harddrive space for a US$ 249 price tag. It is not a secret that an additional of US$ 50 will get you a fifteen gigabytes iPod that would store somewhere around 2,700 more music files. That is a lot more than the Apple ipod mini.
This is because harddrive space is so much important for Apple iPod users, the original Apple iPod have so much space available to the user of about forty gigabytes. This amount of space can store more than five thousand songs. Aside from this, the original Apple iPod also has a longer battery life.
However, criticizers should consider the frame of the Apple iPod mini. It is slender and is more styled, that which made it seem more functional and more attractive to the eyes and has a more ergonomic feel to the fingers. To most people, it would not be the ideal music player, but to the 99,000 or so Apple iPod mini users, they beg to disagree. The Too Sexy Apple iPod Mini
The Apple iPod mini is compared to a US$ 1,200 purse from Chanel. This is because the US$ 249 Apple iPod mini, with its variety of five colors, brings out class and posh.
It has an anodized body made of aluminum and weighs about 3.6 ounces. It measures about 2 inches in width, 3.6 inches in height, and only about half an inch in thickness. It does not look like it at first glance, but the Apple ipod mini is almost like a featherweight than the original Apple iPod.
It is also silky to the touch and smooth. It also fits wonderfully in your palm. This is the reason for the premium price tag.
The Apple iPod mini also has no external moving parts. You will notice that underneath the smaller 1.67-inch LCD screen lie the light touch-sensitive and highly ergonomic Click Wheel. This Click Wheel is the one which incorporates the Apple iPod mini's other controls. The control's buttons are located on the pad itself. This is much different than the original Apple iPod's four function buttons that is located above the scroll pad.
Anyone who is familiar with the software for the iPod knows about the seamless integration of iPod with iTunes. In no time, you would be cruising with the tunes.
The Apple iPod mini behaves just like exactly as other newer generation Apple iPods. It now even packs a battery life of 8 hours. The original Apple iPods have a longer battery life.
Besides the smaller physical dimensions and the new warm minimalist choices of color, which can be gold, silver, pink, green and blue. A major difference observed between the original Apple iPod and the Apple iPod mini is the harddrive space capacity.
The Apple iPod mini has a tiny Hitachi harddrive that can hold about four gigabytes of music. Music files include AAC, Audible, MP3, WAV and AIFF. This is enough storage for a number of Apple iPod mini users.
Apple iPod users usually prefer to carry an entire library of music any time of the day. Rather than manually selecting and transferring specific songs to the Apple iPod mini. The Apple iPod mini can only hold as much as a fraction of the forty gigabytes music collection.
The Apple iPod mini also has accessories that include the earbuds, a USB 2.0 cable and a FireWire dock connector, an AC adaptor, a belt clip, and the Apple iPod mini software.
The Apple iPod mini could have been more lenient by adding a dock or armband to teh package.
The US$ 29 armband is a great help for joggers who want to listen to good music while jogging and carrying the very lightweight and effectively skip-free Apple iPod mini.
Conclusion
To summarize, the Apple iPod mini has a sleek styling, it is a small size and has an excellent integrated Click wheel. It has a possible disadvantage to the user, though, that is the price per megabyte which is much higher as compared to the original Apple iPod.
Confirmation
Yesterday I was on leave because I renewed my license which expired 2 months ago. The processing of my ID took only a few minutes, it's good that I don't belong to those professions who have long line. After I finished my transaction I seated in one corner of PRC which I found quiet and conducive to reading. I was reading a book about healing when I was interrupted by an Ilocana teacher asking where is the nearest SM and I gave her the direction. She has a companion who is also a teacher they came all the way from Ilocos to renew their license. I was lucky that I don't have to travel that long just to renew my license. My friend arrived and she has also to process some papers regarding her professional license. I have to leave her to go to my mom's clinic to consult a dentist. My wisdom tooth has been bugging me and there's no other way to preserve it,it is for extraction already. The dentist and his assitant (a nun) has convinced me after minutes of talking. The dentist was good because in less than a minute he got my tooth. After the bloody incident
my friend and I proceeded to the main event of the day which was her confirmation and I am the lucky godmother. We arrived at the church early spent the time bonding and chatting about our lives. The catechists gave us orientation on what we are going to do. I was struck by what he said that their main source income is from the confirmation that they schedule every Thursday and Saturday because only a few people come to their church.
I learned the importance of confirmation to accept the grace of God fully, how I wish I can have my confirmation again now that I can fully understand what my faith is all about because I had my confirmation when I was seven years old. I felt the grace of God also and I realize how important is the responsibility of the godparent. The day ended with lots of rains that made the street flooded which I can associate with God's blessings.

Little Voice
There's a voice in the wilderness whispering
even in the lyrics of songs that i sing
it touches my heart
it touches my whole being
sometimes i can't resist
i kept on denying
i kept on ignoring
pretending not to hear it
for so long now
the voice is still there
waiting to be heard
i can't decide
i can't let it go
cried so many tears
have many sleepless nights
thinking of what to do with my life
what do you want me to do
it's not clear to me
lead me to the way
oftentimes i failed you
but still you are there for me
loving me unconditionally
am not good enough to be worthy of you
you love me even if i am not perfect
there are times that i blame you
but still you are there
you have loved me so much
that you are afraid that i'll get hurt in the process of loving
but you allowed me to get hurt sometimes
you don't get tired of listening to me
though there are times that i forget you
thanks for your great love
you are the one who truly loves me
even in the lyrics of songs that i sing
it touches my heart
it touches my whole being
sometimes i can't resist
i kept on denying
i kept on ignoring
pretending not to hear it
for so long now
the voice is still there
waiting to be heard
i can't decide
i can't let it go
cried so many tears
have many sleepless nights

thanks for your great love
you are the one who truly loves me
Best Ways to Make Serious Money Starting With a Small Investment
Quite often people think that investing is not a viable option for them because of a common misconception that investing is only worth it if you have a considerable amount of capital. I was one of those people, who thought that in order to invest you have to have a lot of money, but it's not true you can still invest if you have small amount of money.
However, I realized that in order to reach the goal of making money and a living out of my money it was not necessary to wait till retirement before having enough money breaking my neck until I am 65 and I have reached my goal mark. Indeed, I learned that investing and making a lot of money at it was not about how much capital you have (although it is obvious that more is better), but more about how consistent and effective you are at managing your risk.
This is really the key, and the reason why we agree to put our money in the hands of large institutions, because we presume that they are better fit to manage the risk for us than we are, and this may be right to some extent, but the fact of the matter is that you can also do a great job at it without the need for you to be an expert thus getting far better returns on your investment.
Nonetheless, it is not about jumping into the markets to see if you get lucky, it is about being prepared, because remember, you are not an expert, but you sure need to perform like one. The question is, how? First is study or read a lot about invesments and investing.
Simple, you have to learn how to manage your investment yourself, and this is something you can easily achieve by turning to good educational resources and reliable trading tools, both of which will provide you with the ideal mix of know-how and accurate real time analysis to make your investment so profitable that you will need only a small amount of money to start making a lot of it.
Consider for a moment that if you achieve a 20% monthly return on your investment, an initial investment of $200 could turn into $13,249.47 after only 24 months. So you see, you can make serious money with just a little of it and without being reckless; all you will need to make serious money with your investment is know-how and/or a solid investing toolbox, and of course time, which is why starting sooner is key. The younger you start investing the better. Start in now.

Up (The Movie) Values We Can Learn
Commitment. No matter how difficult the trial or challenge may come you do everything in your power to see it through. Tenacity is a rare gift, so we should strive to pursue dreams and meet goals in the face of obstacles and difficulties.
Loving unconditionally is one of the most difficult things but also one of the most rewarding ways to live. To be a recipient of this love is one of the most affirming experiences you can ever have. When you place the needs of others above your own anything is possible. The more you share, more blessings will come back to you.
Purity of heart. They say that when your goal is noble, the universe will conspire to make things happen for you. It is when you let God orchestrate your days that makes every moment that unfolds a gift or miracle. It's the law of karma when you are good a person you will be blessed.
Growing old is inevitable and when the one you love leaves ahead of you, it can be one of your saddest experiences. But, it can also make you braver. It helps to believe that endings are just beginnings too.
Stay open to the possibilities of new adventures and relationships no matter your age. People like to stay in their comfort zones and miss out on many things because of fear of the unknown.
Be in the moment always. Savor each conversation, activity, story that is shared because there are many gifts that every moment brings. Often you will never get another one like it ever again. Cherish the present because it will never come back again. Life is short, seize the day.
When a marriage breaks up, it is important for both parents to be there for their children. Make peace with your spouse and no matter the circumstances, make time for the children. leave the children out of your war and do not make them suffer unnecessarily.
Life is a big adventure so let go of the things and people that weigh you down. Whether it is sadness, holding on to a grudge, living in the past or being attached to material possessions, free yourself of these so you can move forward. Leave no room for hatred or negativity, and learn to forgive others and sometimes yourself. It's not always an easy thing to do, but once you do this it can be such a liberating experience. You are always given the resources and people that need to be in your life at different points along the road so you can pursue your dreams, fulfill missions and go on with the big adventure. There are the people who make your heart sing and help you soar as you navigate through the deserts of life.
In difficult times we are reminded of what is truly important in life, it can get tiring at times , we need to have our emotional tanks filled every now and then. Sometimes those difficult times reminds us that we have a God greater than are burdens all we need is to open our hearts and minds.

Apple iPhone 3.1
Apple announced the release of the iPhone 3.1 software update as predicted. Apple CEO Steve Jobs introduced the update on stage at the Yerba Buena Center during the "Rock and Roll" event. The software includes a handful of new features and bug fixes. With over 75,000 apps in the App Store, it can be difficult to find new applications. Apple's extended its Genius media-recommendation algorithm to iPhone applications. It looks at the apps you already own and makes recommendations based on that information.
In addition iPhone 3.1 beefs up the iPhone's ringtone capability allowing you to download over 30,000 ringtones from major labels via Ringtones section in the iPhone's Settings once they have been downloaded.
It also include in the iPhone OS 3.1 update are a number of iTunes 9 related features such as support for Genius Mixes, automatically generated playlists of tracks based on your library; the ability to organize applications on your iPhone's Home screen in iTunes; new syncing oprions for music, movies, TV shows, podcasts, and photos and iTunes U content organization.
It has also the ability to redeem iTunes gift cards, codes and certificates in the App Store ( a feature that briefly appeared in iPhone 3.0 then later disappeared) as well as a wa to view available iTunes account credits in both App Store and iTunes Store.
It has new video features with the abilit to save videos from both Mail and MMS into the Camera Roll (U.S. users will have to wait for AT&T to roll out MMS functionality on Sept. 25 in order to use the latter. You can also save a copy of a trimmed vide clip, which avoids overrriding the original clip.
On the iPhone 3GS, Voice Control is now accessible via a Bluetooth headset and there's an option to use the 3GS's Home button to activate accessibility features.
There are a number of other enhancements and bug fixes in the release, including a patch for an issue that could cause application icons to display incorrectly.

Apple Iphone 3.1
Apple usually rolls out changes to its iPhone line each September, and this year was no exception. On Wednesday, the company held a press event in San Francisco, in which Steve Jobs -- making his first appearance at a public event since coming back from medical leave -- took the wraps off Apple's new iPod nano. The music player now comes with a built-in video camera.
Apple unveiled changes to its iTunes software. iTunes 9 now features Genius Mixes for creating recommended playlists of music and movies, Home Sharing for synchronizing iTunes content on five authorized computers, and a new interface for managing iPhone and iPod touch applications.

To a Dear Friend KB
The memories of the past keep haunting us
Your laughter and humor reminds us of happy
moments
You've been our side to protect us
to guide us, to love us, to appreciate us
to laugh with us, to cry with us.
your know our secrets
you are our light in the darkest hours
you are proud of us
regardless of our weaknesses and imperfections
you have a lot of friends
but ours has gone to the many tests of time
now that you're gone
we're at a lost
i know you're still there for us
and you are happy wherever you are
you left a void in our hearts
we're sad that you left
you left us with happy memories
to remember
our prayer is for strength
to be able to cope up with grief
and someday we will be together again
in that place called forever.

Reflections
This morning on my way to the office, I was rushing because I saw the dark clouds and it was about to rain. When I was already on the jeep, I started with my morning prayers until my mind drifted to other things. I was recalling the past, it has been already three years since I left MMLDC and have to face another chapter of my life.
It was not easy for me, how I missed my friends at MMLDC. Some have already resigned have gone abroad. I remember my last day in MMLDC when I don't want to have despedida but still good friends prepared one great despedida for me. I shed so much tears on that day, tears of joy because of what I have heard from my officemates when they grilled me with I should say loving and kind words, and tears of sadness because I will leave them behind and facing another step of my life. My first few months in my new office was so lonely, even if I have already friends there. I got sick, but still I have to force myself to go to work because I don't have a reliever. I ate lunch alone and I can't even swallow the food I'm eating, I tried to hold back my tears and have to be strong. My boss always checked me if I'm okay. And now three years has already passed and a lot of things had already happened. It was a blessing in disguise because I'm closer to the place which I can't live without because it's the place I was born in San Juan.
It's like being back home where my friends are.

The first test of a truly great man is humility.
Never answer a letter while you are angry.

The greatest mark of man's being flawless is that he does not seek flaws in others.
Crossing your bridges when you come to them and exploiting opportunities when they come your way are the real secrets of success in this world
The minor mistake is sometimes a major improvement.
Common sense in spite of, not the result of education.
A gentleman is a man who can disagree without being disagreeable.
If two men on the same job agree all the time, then one is useless. If they disagree all the time, then both are useless.
Never fight with a man who has nothing to lose.
The surest way for an executive to kill himself is to refuse to learn how and when and to whom to delegate work.
Play the thank you game.
Minefields of business world: anger, jealousy, revenge.
Entrepreneurs are people with great imagination
Direction is more important than speed. We are so busy looking at our speedometers that we forget the milestone.
To many, life has been full of terrible misfortunes most of which never happened.
A wise man is one who can live in peace with things he cannot change.

Quotes from The Notebook
I love you. I am who I am because of you. You are every reason, every hope, and every dream I've ever had, and no matter what happens to us in the future, everyday we are together is the greatest day of my life. I will always be yours.
The best love is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for more, that plants a fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds and that's what you have given me. That's what I hope to give you forever. I love you.
The best love is the kind that weakens the soul, that makes us reach for more, that plants fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds. And that's what you've given me. That's what I hope to give to you forever.
Poets often describe love as an emotion that we can't control, one that overwhelms logic and common sense. Thats what it's like for me. I didn't plan on falling in love with you, and I doubt that you planned on falling in love with me. But once we met, it was clear that neither of us could control what was happening to us. We fell in love, despite our differences, and once we did, something rare and beautiful was created. For me love like that has happened only once, and thats why every minute we spent together has been seared in my memory. I'll never forget a single moment of it.
I am nothing special, of this I am sure. I am a common man with common thoughts and I’ve led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten, but I’ve loved another with all my heart and soul, and to me, this has always been enough.

"Club Zero"
My friend Mean arrived from Riyadh for a more than one month vacation. She's my best friend for more than ten years already. We happened to be members of Singles for Christ. Our friendship started when I became their unit head (or leader) of the group. We have been through a lot of conferences, christian life programs, happy and sad memories. Some of my members are under my care when they were younger until now that they are mature adults. Some of my members are already married and others have remained single. Mean is the "uniting force" in our group, why do I say this it is because she's the only one who can gather us together. We don't see often, we communicate only when there is an occasion or when one has a problem, or sometimes when there's a nice movie to watch. Last Saturday we were together again. We went to Mall of Asia and attended mass there, except for Joevy who is living at the bay area. We had dinner at Joevy's pad at Crown Bay Tower.
Happy to see each other again exchanging jokes and update regarding "lovelife?" and other things. We enjoy taking lots of pictures, its good that cameras can take pictures using the timer no one wants to be a photographer. We had real fun being with each other but we have to go home early the next morning because of other commitments.
Perhaps God is the uniting force in our friendship or maybe it's our love for one another. I have been blessed to have friends like you. We've known each other for years. You have brought so much joy in my life. Because of your love and support life for me has been easier. You gave me strength when I needed it, encouragement when I was down and a shoulder to cry on when the going gets rough. You tried to protect and defend me when I was put to test. The time when I was silent you were my voice and with God's help I was able to surpass that crisis in my life .I don't know if I was a good leader to you or if I lead you to the right path. What is important to me now is our friendship. You are my real friends and sisters, we will always be there for each other no matter what. I will always treasure the bond that we have as long as I live.

Cheap Ipod anyone
Having an iPod these days is not a status symbol anymore. For those like me who works for the web and designs graphics with high MB file size, iPod nano, iPod mini, or iPod shuffle is an investment. With iPods's 6 to 60 GB capacity, it is a dream of every techie. You can save all of your important files in a small, sleek and very elegant iPod.
But of course, a $300 to $400 ++ iPod nano or iPod video costs too much for some of us. If you want to have a cheap iPod and wouldn't want to settle for anything less (and go for the cheap flash audio players around), then you may need to read my suggestions below to be able to have that cheap iPod that your money can buy (and your conscience to allow).
GO FOR REFURBISHED
No one would notice that your iPod nano, iPod video, iPod mini or iPod shuffle was bought from a cheap iPod refurbished e-store. In fact if you buy a new iPod, it will look the same like the refurbished cheap iPod after a few months of use. No one would try to look for your receipt just to know you bought your iPod nano, iPod video, iPod mini or iPod shuffle from an Apple store and not from a cheap iPod store, or would they?
Also, if you bought a new iPod from an Apple iPod store and then the time came that you needed an iPod battery replacement, you will need to pay Apple iPod store 59 bucks for a refurbished iPod nano, iPod video, iPod mini or iPod shuffle, only this time, with a fresh iPod battery.
cheap iPod nano, iPod video, iPod mini or iPod shuffle costs for about $190 to $250 from the cheap iPod or refurbished iPod e-stores.
BID AT EBAY
Try your luck at Ebay and you might get a cheap iPod that costs only $250 for a brand new line.
Many people bid their equipment at Ebay because they need the money far better than the equipment immediately and badly. So most of the times, Ebay sellers sell cheap iPod and part ways with their sleek and sexy iPod because if the immediate need for large sums of money.
You can bid for cheap iPods at Ebay simple by searching "cheap iPods" or sale iPods. There is a chance that you might get a cheap iPod for a brand new iPod nano, iPod video, iPod mini or iPod shuffle.
Take your chance at Ebay, you may never know, you might get that cheap iPod that you want for as cheap as 100 bucks!
BUY YOUR FRIEND'S USED IPOD
All of us have friends who can afford to buy a brand new iPod without the need to starve for a few months of saving or can buy a Porsche car and still remain mortgage free. If you don't have this kind of friends, your friends maybe have this kind of friends.
Apple iPod regularly changes their models; regularly as in every 6 months since the last two years. iPod fanatics do not want to be caught tinkering on their old and already cheap iPod, they want to have the latest model in the market.
These kind of people, your friends or your friends friends, will gladly sell their 3 month old Apple iPod for a cheaper price.
Cheap iPod doesn't always come in a persons way that easily, so grab the chance when someone offers you a cheap iPod for sale!
GO TO EXCHANGE CENTERS
There are some exchange centers on the net or on local newspapers that offer cheap iPod, brand new and refurbished, in exchange of any items of, more or less, equivalent amount. If you have some items that are still of superb condition and might interest those people who are selling cheap iPods, offer your equipment or items in exchange of the cheap iPod.
If you think you don't need your 3G celfone, you can have it exchanged to a person offering brand new but cheap iPod. Or if you have two items that you think with their selling amounts combined could match that of the cheap iPod, then you can part with those items.
Remember to test first the cheap iPod before you make the exchange.

Type 2 Diabetes and Green Tea - Does it Actually Work Or is This Just Hype?
Do you have diabetes or does someone in your family have diabetes. The prevalence of diabetes type 2 in young adults is happening in epidemic proportions these days. There are more young people these days that are diagnosed with Diabetes type 2.
Diabetes can be a devastating illness because the complications are blindness, kidney failure, heart attacks and even loss of a lower limb. There is not actual cure for diabetes at this time.
The treatment for diabetes is diabetic meal plans, exercise and medications. Now there is evidence that there is something new that diabetics can use to help control their blood sugar. There are studies on tea that suggest that consumption could prevent type 2 diabetes. Green tea is made with the leaves of the camellia sinensis bush.
Benefits of tea are antinflammatory, antioxidative, anticarniogenic and able to prevent cardiac disorders and now preventing diabetes. This last study was completed in China. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently reported that the green tea catechin epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), could enhance the action of insulin.
A growing body of research also suggests that the polyphenols in tea can lower your cholesterol, triglyceride levels and blood pressure, and even help to protect your bones.
Another study in Europe reported that green tea-extract also had a positive impact on glucose abnormalities. In that study, daily supplementary intake of tea-extract lowered the hemoglobin A1c level in individuals with borderline diabetes.
Maybe before resorting to drugs for diabetes you might want to add a few cups of green tea every day and enjoy the benefits of natural treatments.

Time Traveller's Wife (The Movie)

I have seen this book months ago. It is in my wish list of books to buy, but I have to see the movie first before buying a copy. A unique love story, a young girl Claire Abshire who meet the love of her life at the age of six years old, and the guy was Henry DeTamble 36 years old but is really eight years older than she is. Henry De Tamble is a time traveler, although not by choice. A certain genetic disease causes him to travel through time, disapperaing from view, leaving behind his clothes and possessions, and arriving naked in another time and another place. He often commits petty crime of stealing clothes from others when he travels and must run from people, thugs or the police. One of the places to which he travels often is the meadow behind Claire's house, and throughout her younger years, Clare meets him there and falls in love with him. All the while Henry knew what will happen in the future but he waited for it to become a reality. Despite of the unusual situation that these two lovers had their love for each other prevailed. Time travel has its advantages as well. Henry sees the past, he had an encounter with his dead mother on a train telling her how much he admired and adored her and how he happy he was to see her. When you see your death coming , you prepare yourself to spend quality time with your family or the people you love, Henry saw his death coming. The movie also depicts parental love, the sacrifices that parents undergo for the sake of their children. If given a chance to time travel I will go back to my childhood days, when my grandparents are still alive and when life is simple and yet happy. I will to reminisce the memorable and unforgetable events in my life or the good old days. We also time travel when we reminisce the past events in our life, whether sad or happy memories captured in the chapters of our lives.

Paano kaya tayo magtatagpo
Lahat ng aking dinanas malungkot man o masaya
